Lynda is a commercial product specialist, who began her career at Marks & Spencer head office working in fast-paced buying departments. Trained as a retail buyer, she is passionate about in-depth customer knowledge, commercial product development and high-quality standards.
She also has a wealth of experience performing commercial roles for various UK and international suppliers / manufacturers, sourcing and producing ‘own brand’ products for delivery to large department stores and high street retailers. She has managed sales, design and technical teams and been responsible for sales up to £100m.
By being on ‘both sides of the fence’ as a retail buyer and as a supplier, she has gained a detailed understanding of the complexities and challenges faced by both parties.
Lynda has worked for start-up, small and large family and corporate companies and has experience of multi-channel buying for high street and luxury brands and manufacturing in multi-product clothing, accessories and homeware.
She was part of a small team, who created and launched ‘bamford’ – a luxury clothing and accessories brand for the Bamford family (of JCB fame).
Lynda worked as a Consultant to Seasalt Cornwall before moving to Cornwall in 2013 to join the Executive Board, where she improved productivity and increased profit in her role as Director of Buying, Sourcing, Supply and Technical.
Her key areas of expertise include product development from prototype to bulk through to in-store delivery, costings, range planning, critical path management, creating and implementing standard operating processes, assessing roles and responsibilities, sourcing, supply chain, production planning and factory assessment.
